Creating a New Folder and Resizing Your
Photo's Using Microsoft Paint
Microsoft Paint is a windows
imaging application that comes preinstalled on most windows systems. The
following are simple steps on how to resize a picture for use on your
website by using Microsoft Paint.
Before continuing, we suggest you take a
moment and create a folder on your desktop name "My Website".
All of your images and text (in Microsoft Word) should be save there
just in case you delete something by mistake.
Creating a New Folder
Once your "New" folder shows up on your desktop you
will need to rename your folder "My Website"
Resizing Your Photo's Using Microsoft
Paint
Step 1 open Microsoft Paint & click the "File" button
on the toolbar. Then select "Open" from the dropdown menu.
Step 2 Locate your image, if you dont see it, make sure
you have the "File Types" set to "All files".
Step 3 shows a full size image of your
photo
Step 4 Now click "Image" then choose the "Stretch/Skew"
option
Step 5 Here you will see the "Stretch/Skew" window. To
shrink the photo, give the "stretch" property any percentage under
100%. Make sure the horizontal & vertical percentages both match
or you will distort the photo.
Step 6 Here you will see the photo resized.
Step 7 Now you can Save it overwriting the original larger
photo, or you can rename it. If you rename it select
"Save as" & keep both photos, the larger & resized photos. Make sure you
save it in "My Website" folder.
